Chad and Emily @ Heinz History Center (Grand Hall)

get married and have reception at same venue pittsburgh, unique cool pittsburgh wedding venue, experienced pittsburgh wedding photographer

Emily and Chad both married and celebrated the night away in the Grand Hall at the Heinz History Center here in Pittsburgh. Much thanks to Alisa Innocenti for inviting me along for this one! Here are a handful of my favorites from the day…

Emily and Chad married in 2017 at the Heinz History Center, a pretty fantastic unique location here in Pittsburgh to have a wedding. The Grand Hall even features an old trolley that you can walk through! This savvy bride and groom chose to do a First Look to allow for time for photos before their ceremony- so that they could relax and enjoy the rest of their day, and mingle with their guests during their cocktail hour. (Because of the rain, this turned out to be a huge blessing- it gave us more time to coordinate backup plans for photography.) First Looks are pretty common when the ceremony and reception are both in the same location, and the couple wants more than a couple photos of themselves. Since the guests aren’t traveling from location to location, you definitely don’t want to keep them waiting especially long while you’re off taking pictures.

While the guests mingled during cocktail hour, Alisa and I photographed the details that bride Emily set up in the reception hall, and set up our lights for the big party. The band had the dance floor full all night, and we ALL had a blast!
