Where can we take newborn photos?
At Home
"But my house is a mess???"
There are two options here... If you don't mind a bit of natural clutter around to memorialize this hectic, beautiful time, then there's absolutely no need to clean. Those toys scattered about, the stack of burp cloths- they're all part of your story!
If you're looking for cleaner, more minimalist pictures, then yes, having a room or two tidied before I arrive would be helpful. But no need to stress over it- give yourself grace! You've just had a baby, after all. We will take care of everything once I arrive.
At Your Birth Place
Some families choose to have "Fresh 48" newborn pictures taken right where baby was born, so they can document the first few hours of their baby's life- those early snuggles or meeting big siblings and grandparents for the first time. It goes by in a blur!
These sessions are perfect for parents who aren't sure if they're ready to invest in a birth photographer. I will join you within 2 days of baby's arrival to make sure we can get those precious firsts documented!

What a beautiful memory I've preserved! BUT as the official family photographer in my house, I have thousands upon thousands of pictures of my kids and husband... I just wish I were IN more of those photos.
While I was present emotionally through it all, you'd hardly know how active I was in my kids' lives- because I was always the one behind the camera. If these photos are preserving memories for my children, I want them to see me in there, too. I know that my favorite pictures of myself as a child always have my mom and dad in them!

What to Expect When Working with your Newborn Photographer
Your experience working with me will be easy and, hopefully, fun!
- Before your due date we talk through the timeline for your newborn family photos and I give recommendations for what to wear and how to prepare. We'll tentatively set a date and plan to touch base once baby arrives!
- Just before your session date we touch base so I can answer any last questions you have and give some final recommendations about how to be ready for me to arrive. We'll plan our start time based on baby's current nap and feeding schedule.
- Session Day! ♡ I arrive as baby is being fed, and we can chat a bit while I prep the spaces we'll be photographing in. I want you to feel as relaxed as possible and once baby is ready to go, I'll pull out the camera!
- Once I'm finished editing your photos, I will send you a link to your online gallery. You are welcome to share this link with family and friends!
Don't worry- I'm understanding and easy to talk to! I want to give you the most natural looking newborn family photos, while having a relaxed experience making them.
