Client Love

"She is truly a miracle worker! Her professionalism kept our family moving and focused throughout our 20 minute session. Her maternal qualities shone through as she worked with our kids as if she had known them their whole lives. She couldn’t control the weather but the setting was glorious, even my five year old commented “Mommy those trees look like they are on fire!” As I admire our final photos I still don’t know how she did it or how I will choose! She managed to capture my family being playful and loving as well as posed and smiling. No one would know all that we had against us from looking at our pictures and that is because we had Pamela behind the camera. Throughout the process she was quick to respond to my emails and calls. She was professional and courteous and her confident experience was reassuring. The final product was well worth the investment and we will be looking forward to future family sessions with her."

What are Photography Mini Sessions?

Photography mini sessions are condensed portrait sessions that pack all the magic of a full photoshoot into a convenient 20-minute timeslot. I host these special events throughout the year at carefully selected outdoor locations around Pittsburgh.

Fall mini sessions and spring mini sessions are perfect for holiday cards, Mother’s Day presents, birthday gifts, or simply updating your family photos without the full investment of a regular session. And they are an excellent way to experience my documentary-inspired approach before committing to a full session!

How Pittsburgh Mini Sessions Work

We work quickly! The beauty of my approach is that your photos look completely natural and candid, even though I'm actively guiding you throughout our time together in photography mini sessions. Parents are often amazed at how quickly their children warm up and how much fun everyone has during these brief sessions. These truly are low pressure photo mini sessions!

After your session date I will send you an online gallery of all the pictures from your session… and you are free to download your favorite 10 photos, included in your session fee. Of course you are always welcome to purchase the rest of the gallery as well- and families often do! :)

Pittsburgh Mini Sessions

All mini sessions are held in outdoor locations throughout the Pittsburgh area, within 15 minutes’ drive of the city. I select locations that provide plenty of parking, a modicum of privacy, minimal walking, and a variety of photo backdrop options close together. Most importantly, I pay close attention to the light in that area, during the hours the photo mini sessions are scheduled!

For spring mini sessions I will scout out locations that meet all these criteria while also providing as many florals / blooms as possible. For fall mini sessions of course I am looking for the most vibrant, interesting foliage I can! Because we are dependent on the changing environment, the precise mini session location is often not determined until a few days before the photo session date itself.

From Your Photographer

Hi! I am Pamela! I have been a professional photographer for 20+ years- long before I was a mom- so it made sense that I would be the one to take on the role of documenting our family life. And I do it with the fervor of a woman who feels her kids slipping away from her, because as my oldest steps right into his preteen years, I can’t help but hold my youngest *that* much tighter. Damn, it’s too short!

I have dozens of photo books of my kids, and even more prints of them on my walls. My passion is in helping families retain their own family legacies in print, because really our time with our kids is special, fleeting, and deserves to be preserved.

I am looking forward to connecting with you!
