I was excited when local photographer Leeann G. reached out to me to photograph her family this fall, and even more so when she showed me her beautiful property! These kids are soooo lucky to live on a compound- playground, pool, toys for adults and kids alike, and lots and lots and lots of land.
Leeann was interested in a documentary session, relaxed and candid photographic coverage of their everyday life. Totally my jam! (We also did some portraits later on.)
We started the session getting P. out of bed and J. off the bus before hitting the backyard… then after dinner we got some portraits and photographed their nighttime routine. I even got a preview of their halloween costumes! (Make sure you check out the gallery below to for those…)
I’ve noticed that my clients who reach out to me for day-in-the-life photography sessions are often photographers themselves, or have experience with the art of photography. Perhaps this is because they find that in photographing their family life, their own presence is omitted from the pictures? I wrestled with this exact frustration not long ago on one of our family vacations, and really regretted not hiring someone to document it.
Or maybe it’s just that photographers already understand the value of these sessions, so I don’t really have to sell the idea to them… which is ok by me! 🙂
And of course the pictures! You can browse through a handful of my favorite pictures from the G. Family’s photo session in the gallery below… feel free to scroll through at your own pace…
I do deliver images in both color and black and white. There was just something about this particular session that spoke b&w to me. I hope it does to you, as well!
Until next time,
Pamela 💜
