So much joy and laughter and tears as Anna and Carlin exchanged vows during their Phipps wedding ceremony here in Pittsburgh. It was a day full of laughter and emotion, one I was very happy to photograph this beautiful day! Enjoy a handful of my favorite photos from this bride and groom’s wedding day at Phipps Conservatory…
From the moment I first sat down with Anna and Carlin at Commonplace Coffee to chat about their wedding day, it was incredibly clear to me why these two were planning a wedding together. They just make SENSE. And as their wedding day unfolded, I could see that I was not the only one who felt that way! Friends and family embraced these two, and there were emotional moments everywhere.
Both the bride and groom got ready for their wedding day at the Indigo Hotel in nearby East Liberty. Wanting to spend as much time as possible with their family and friends, they opted for a First Look, seeing each other before the ceremony for photos. It was really nice to knock out not just the bride and groom portraits, but also most of the family and bridal party photos as well. So that after their ceremony, they headed right to the cocktail hour with their guests!
Anna is a flowers girl, so Phipps Conservatory was a perfect choice for both her wedding and reception. The nice thing about having both your ceremony and reception in the same location is that a lot of the stress around timeline is taken out of the equation. It’s just much more controlled. Especially for these two, as they finished up all the formal photos before their ceremony even started. They did their first look out on the patio, near their ceremony location, surrounded by waterfall and foliage… and then we grabbed some photos inside the Tropical Forest room before they celebrated with friends and family in the Special Events Hall.
Anna and Carlin, I wish you the best.
