The K. Family | A Documentary Family Session

Fifty years of marriage is an amazing accomplishment and siblings Val and Mark really wanted to make their parents’ anniversary celebration this year extra special. It was a day full of surprises, starting with an in-home documentary photoshoot, then taking them off in a limo to a fancy dinner downtown!

Mark and Val decided to add on a portrait session to their photoshoot, so we set up in a little studio in the living room. It was the perfect setting to photograph these two, comfortable in their own home. I especially love that there is a portrait from their wedding day 50 years ago, just behind them on their bookshelves! The background just adds so much to the story in these photographs.

Whether you choose to do a documentary session, a lifestyle session, or a traditional portrait session… choosing to do it in your own home is a FANTASTIC way to make the session as comfortable as possible, while also adding SO MUCH to the story told in the photographs.

Ask me how to make a session like this one work for you!
