This was a special one. And not just because Alissa and I have 20+ years of friendship between us. (Ok that counts, too!) But truly from the moment I met Patrick, these two just made sense. I am so happy my very deserving friend found her forever partner, so grateful to be invited along to celebrate in their union, and so honored to be asked to photograph it.
(PS With a torn calf muscle days before the wedding, we weren’t sure how mobile Alissa would be for the big day… but she was SUCH a trooper! Even pulled off a big surprise family dance- with flair! Pics included below of course!)
Lots of love to you both. <3
Patrick and Alissa between them bring 5 kids to the marriage… and these kids were SO excited to be joining together. It was incredibly heartwarming to see them embrace the union wholeheartedly… The Silk Mill’s coordinator Morgan Elliott was also so impressed she interviewed them for a video she created for the happy couple!
Alissa and Patrick’s entire day took place at the Inn at the Old Silk Mill in Fredericksburg VA. They readied themselves on site and hosted both ceremony and reception in the ballroom there as well. So incredibly convenient for them as well as for their guests! Since the afternoon threatened rain, we abandoned plans for an outdoor ceremony in the courtyard in favor of an intimate ceremony indoors. It was perfect.
Finally, so very much thanks to Daniel for being my right hand that day- I appreciate all your help!
I am always open to travel for weddings – this DC wedding is not the first one I have packed my bags for. Just ask me for rates!
